About Us
Nurturing Rural
Sporting Talent
An initiative by Turiyo Foundation to identify and nurture sporting talents among rural children through community sports programs.
Turiyo Foundation
Building pathways for underprivileged children through sports and education
Turiyo Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for rural and underprivileged children across India. We believe that every child has innate potential waiting to be discovered and nurtured.
Through our flagship program, Turiyo Talent Academy, we focus on early talent identification in sports, particularly targeting children from rural communities who lack access to structured sports programs and professional guidance.
The Khejuri Mini Marathon 2026 is the first step in our long-term vision to create a systematic approach to grassroots sports development in rural India.

Our Mission
βTo maximize participation and identify natural-born talents for sports among rural children, creating pathways from village playgrounds to national arenas.β
Short-term Goal
Successfully conduct the first Mini Marathon in Khejuri, engaging 500+ children and their families in organized sports activities.
Long-term Vision
Establish a replicable model for grassroots talent identification that can be expanded to other rural areas across West Bengal and India.
The Bigger Picture
The Mini Marathon is designed as the entry point of a larger, long-term grassroots sports initiative
While the marathon focuses on participation and fitness, the larger vision focuses on early talent identification, guidance, and opportunity creation for rural children.
Participation
Open and inclusive access for all children
Mapping
Performance, stamina, discipline, and attitude observation
Training
Counselling parents and children on next steps
Opportunity
Connecting talent to formal sports pathways
Aligned with National Goals
Our initiative aligns with the Government of India's Khelo India KIRTI programme
The Khelo India - KIRTI (Khelo India Rising Talent Identification) programme is a Government of India initiative aimed at early identification of sporting talent at the grassroots level, particularly among children and youth.
- 1Broad-based participation at the village level
- 2Early exposure to structured physical activity
- 3Identification of endurance and athletic potential (8-14 years)
- 4Community-level engagement in sports awareness

While the mini marathon is a community-driven event, it functions as a preparatory and exposure platform for formal government programmes.
